In Corseul, in the Côtes-d'Armor department, the Château de Monterfil stands on a site said to have once held a Gallo-Roman temple. Built of schist and granite under a slate roof, it features a projecting front section flanked by two round towers with pointed roofs, decorated with pinnacled dormer windows. The front steps, with their scrolled balustrade and balcony, complete this 19th-century facade raised by the du Breil de Pontbriand family.
