Perched above a bend in the Lot river, the Château de Montbrun survives today as ruins dating back to the 13th century. Visitors can still make out the central keep, a first enclosure with a round tower and various defensive structures, along with a second enclosure wall. Between the two fortified lines, terraces laid out as gardens reflect later changes made to the site.
