Château de Montaner stands in Montaner (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 14th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Perched on a hilltop in the Montanérès area, Montaner castle was built by Gaston Fébus in the second half of the 14th century to watch over the borders of Béarn. Only the polygonal curtain wall and the keep remain, built of river pebbles set in a fern-leaf pattern and bonded with courses of brick. The walls still show Gothic doorways, mullioned windows and a few traces of machicolations, giving a clear sense of the original military architecture despite its ruined state.
