To make a day of it
Château de Franqueville stands in Bizanos (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Bizanos, on the edge of Pau, the château de Franqueville sits on a wooded hillside overlooking the valley of the Gave de Pau, with an open view toward the Pyrenees. The present building, with its wide windows, is the result of successive alterations that gradually replaced its medieval, fortress-like appearance with classical lines. The estate takes its name from Count Albert Belhomme de Franqueville, a Norman mountaineer and botanist who settled here in 1854; his family shaped the local history of Bizanos until the First World War.
