To make a day of it

Château de Moissaguel stands in Touffailles (Tarn-et-Garonne), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

On a wooded hilltop in Touffailles, the ruins of Moissaguel castle recall a 14th century stronghold built at the border between Quercy and Agenais. The lordship was created in 1308 by Philippe le Bel for Arnaud de Durfort, and the site later fell under English control after a lengthy siege. Visitors can still make out towers and stretches of wall around the moat, along with vaulted rooms with crossed ribs.
