To make a day of it

Château de Mesnil-Voisin stands in Janville-sur-Juine (Essonne), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château de Mesnil-Voisin stands on the border of the villages of Lardy and Bouray-sur-Juine, in the Essonne department, on the banks of the Juine river. Rebuilt between 1635 and 1636 by the mason and architect Michel Villedo, who later worked on Vaux-le-Vicomte, it reflects the early years of French classicism through its restrained, symmetrical design. The estate still holds a park laid out at the end of the 17th century by André Le Nôtre, along with extensive outbuildings that include a dovecote with 3,500 nesting holes.
