In Marcq, in the Ardennes, this so-called château is in fact a substantial manor house built in 1760 for the ironmaster Nicolas Dérué. Its courtyard façade, with seven bays framed in stone against red brick, and its steep roof recalling an earlier century, make it a well-preserved example of 18th-century bourgeois architecture. Visitors can also see the vaulted entrance passage, with its carriage door and pedestrian door, above which the construction date is carved.
