In Chasselay, in the Monts d'Or hills some fifteen kilometres from Lyon, the château de Machy brings together buildings from different periods without architectural unity. The 17th century main dwelling, its stair turret, a wing added the following century, a chapel and a dovecote make up this group set on hilly ground. The place is no longer a private residence but a Maison-Théâtre, occupied since 1996 by a professional theatre company that creates and performs work there.
