Overlooking the village of Vinzelles from a hillside, the château de Layé consists of three wings arranged around a closed courtyard, flanked by massive square towers pierced with gun loops. Built in the 13th century by the Layé family, the estate underwent major rebuilding in the 17th century before fire damage led to further work around 1850. Notable features include two round-arched carriage gates, arcaded galleries and a barn still housing 18th-century wine presses.
