To make a day of it

Château de Vinzelles stands in Vinzelles (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. No visits are on record for this building.

Set on a hillside above the village of Vinzelles, this pentagon-shaped castle still bears traces of its defensive past, including the bases of round towers and an overhanging turret. The inner courtyard, lined with buildings on three sides, leads to living quarters that include a vaulted chapel and a hall decorated with faded hunting-scene murals. A private property linked to the neighbouring château de Layé, it has belonged since September 2024 to entrepreneur Jean d'Arthuys.
