The Château de Lanrigan stands in the village of the same name in Ille-et-Vilaine, on the site of a feudal motte dating back to the 11th century. What visitors see today dates mainly from the 16th century, including a tower with machicolations and covered battlements that recall the site's defensive origins, while a medieval pavilion remains on the eastern side. The east and south facades, rebuilt during the Renaissance, carry Gothic-inspired decoration, and the west facade was altered in the early 20th century.
