The château de Lancin stands in Courtenay, in the Isère department, built at the very end of the 19th century for the Caquet d'Avaize family. Its architecture draws on neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance forms typical of the Second Empire taste, while the outbuildings and the caretaker's house follow a plainer, rural style. Inside, the decoration was carried out by craftsmen from Lyon and includes murals, mirrors, walnut woodwork and original stained glass. The surrounding park still contains an old hydraulic system, a rare feature that the listing as a historic monument specifically protects.
