To make a day of it

Château de la Trolanderie stands in Curis-au-Mont-d'Or (Rhône), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. No visits are on record for this building.

Set on the heights of the Mont d'Or, the château de la Trolanderie stands on a site fortified since the late twelfth century, altered over time by the successive families who owned it. Its south facade and gardens bear the mark of the Lyon architect Jean-Antoine Morand, commissioned in the eighteenth century by an owner keen on modernising the property. The park was later redesigned at the end of the nineteenth century by landscape architect Gabriel Luizet, during a major restoration led by a Lyon industrialist.
