The château de la Motte-Basse stands in Le Mené, in the Côtes-d'Armor, on the site of a former feudal motte that once watched over the Arguenon river. The walls of the original moated stronghold were kept and later faced with ashlar stone in the 18th century, when the château gained a new pavilion and a building for the chaplain. Visitors can see a main residence with a curved roof, a chapel holding a 1691 painting of the Annunciation, a former bakery in the main courtyard, and a fountain dated 1733 overlooked by a formal French terrace.
