What the French Ministry of Culture records

Important château féodal à son origine, il ferme au nord une cour entourée de murailles défensives dont celles de l'est et de l'ouest ont aujourd'hui disparu. L'ensemble actuel comporte encore les quatre tours carrées d'angle à mâchicoulis et la courtine sud. Le corps de logis s'inscrit entre deux des quatre tours, ceinturé d'un chemin de ronde sur mâchicoulis. Les façades nord et sud ont certainement vu leurs ouvertures modifiées aux 16e et 17e siècles. Côté cour, la muraille a été doublée au 17e siècle d'une galerie qui ouvre par cinq arcades plein cintre dont les piles sont agrémentées de pilastres. La tour d'angle sud-ouest contient, au rez-de-chaussée, une chapelle carrée semblant dater du 14e siècle.
