What the French Ministry of Culture records
L'édification du château remonte à la fin du 16ème siècle. L'édifice, à caractère défensif, est modifié dans les années 1720-1730. Le projet de construction d'un étage supplémentaire au logis, de l'aménagement d'une terrasse bastionnée ainsi que la réalisation du portail d'entrée de l'avant-cour sud est confié à l'architecte Huguet. Les travaux sont poursuivis à sa mort avec l'ouverture de larges avenues marquant les issues du domaine et symbolisant son identité aristocratique. Au nord, un grand parterre et un jeu de paume clos de murs sont créés. Le parc agricole est contenu par une allée courbe périphérique.
