In Trangé, in the Sarthe department, the château de la Groirie displays a 17th century main building flanked by two pavilions, surrounded by a chapel, a dovecote and former stables reshaped over the centuries. Built for the La Rivière family and later altered under the Sanson de Lorchère line in the 18th century, the estate passed through several families before being taken over in 2006 by its current owners, who undertook its restoration. The park, redesigned as an English-style landscape garden in the 19th century, completes the domain, whose once well-known sundial now stands in the park of the Abbaye de l'Épau.
