To make a day of it

Château de la Foucaudie stands in Nersac (Charente), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

In Nersac, a few kilometres west of Angoulême, the château de la Foucaudie now houses the town hall, standing right next to the church. Its eastern façade keeps a 13th-century curtain wall flanked by round turrets added in 1680, while the western front shows two square turrets with machicolations, one dating from the 16th century and the other a 19th-century copy. A terraced arcade and a small French-style garden with a circular pool occupy the courtyard.

  • The façade and the French-style garden can be viewed from outside without a ticket or booking.
  • No visiting hours or admission fees are given, as the site functions primarily as a municipal building.
