What the French Ministry of Culture records
A l'époque où Jean Sans Terre détruisait les dépendances du diocèse de Dol, est entreprise la construction d'un édifice laïc près des bâtiments du prieuré de la Chapelle aux Filtzméens, qui avait déjà subi des destructions. Cet édifice devait offrir aux moines une protection. L'ensemble du château actuel date du 17e siècle, avec un pavillon du 16e. Il fut remanié et mis au goût du jour au 18e siècle (1750). Les boiseries sont d'une facture Louis XV. Le colombier a conservé son état du 17e siècle, avec trois mille niches et une échelle tournante. Le château et les bâtiments qui l'entourent s'organisent autour de deux cours rectangulaires. Le château est prolongé par le pigeonnier et une haie de buis précédant les douves. Les bâtiments de la ferme sont rassemblés au nord du château, autour d'une cour.
