Château de Kercadio stands in Erdeven (Morbihan), in the Bretagne region of France. What the French Ministry of Culture records

L'existence de la demeure de noble Alain de Kercadio est attestée par les réformations et montres de 1427 et 1481. De la fin du 15e siècle au début du 18e siècle, la propriété est celle de la famille de Larlan. En 1703, l'héritage est celui des Gouyon de Vaudurant : Jean-Louis Gouyon de Vaudurant, évêque de Saint-Pol-de-Léon (1745-1763) y décède en 1780. A la Révolution le domaine est aux mains du marquis de Rougé. Propriété de familles de la très haute aristocratie, le château intègre à son plan à cour fermée un corps de logis fortifié daté des années 1480-1490, probablement un des derniers donjons résidences construits en Bretagne, ainsi que l'ancien manoir du 16e siècle. La réalisation architecturale du 18e siècle a produit un ensemble qui apparaît des plus conformes aux goûts pour la composition et l'harmonie symétrique caractéristiques de ce siècle.
