Château de Hochfelden stands in Hochfelden (Bas-Rhin), in the Grand Est region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
The Hochfelden castle no longer stands: it was a medieval stronghold built around a former royal court, at the heart of the village, its walls once enclosing the parish church as well. There is therefore nothing left to visit on site, but its turbulent history, marked by sieges, fires and shared ownership among noble families, explains much about how the village came to be. What remained was pulled down following demolitions ordered under Louis XIV at the close of the 17th century.
