Château de Fabrègues stands in Aurillac (Cantal), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
The château de Fabrègues, rooted in Aurillac since the tenth century, owes its present form to a radical transformation undertaken in 1898 and 1899 by architect Viee. He preserved the foundations of the medieval pavilions but erected a monumental portico at the heart of the edifice: a circular interior volume and square exterior form, topped with an imperial roof and crowned by a false lantern in antique style. The interiors showcase the craftsmanship of that era: a cupola adorned with geometric stained glass by Pompey, a gallery decorated with stencil work, and exceptional woodwork by cabinetmaker Brousse. The whole stands within a park traversed by avenues and graced by a semicircular basin.
