To make a day of it

Château du Claux stands in Naucelles (Cantal), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Set apart from the village of Naucelles, at the end of a dead-end lane, the château du Claux shows a square main building flanked by two towers, at the heart of an estate that once covered up to 300 hectares. What remains is above all the trace of a large agricultural property in the Cantal, with its barns, stables, orangery and chapel, along with a now-ruined dovecote. The park, planted in the 19th century, still holds notable trees from the layout designed by the Grasset family.
