What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château, construit à partir du 13e siècle, appartient aux seigneurs de Courcelles, puis aux ducs de Bourgogne - qui y font de nombreux séjours - et à différentes familles. Il est réaménagé, notamment aux 15e et 17e siècles. Depuis cette époque jusqu'en 1997, il sert d'exploitation agricole. Il est situé à l'écart du village dans un site encore préservé. Les bâtiments, édifiés sur une terrasse de plan circulaire entourée de douves, sont cantonnés de tours arasées et répartis autour d'une cour.
