Château de Cluis stands in Cluis (Indre), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 12th century, 13th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The ruins of the Cluis castle stand on a rocky spur above the Bouzanne river in the Indre department. Once a stronghold of the lord of Déols and later owned by the Duchess of Montpensier, a cousin of Louis XIV, it retains a large tower linked by curtain walls to several smaller towers pierced with arrow slits. Visitors can still make out the pointed-arch gateway flanked by turrets, along with traces of the seigneurial dwelling and a stair turret.
