To make a day of it
Château de Chanteloup stands in Val-de-Cognac (Charente), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is not open to visitors.
Chanteloup castle stands in a 22 hectare park in Val-de-Cognac, on the wine estate of the Martell cognac house. The current building, in Norman revival style, results from a reconstruction carried out between 1930 and 1933 by Maurice Firino-Martell for his wife Elisabeth, on the site of an older residence acquired by the Martell family in 1838. Visitors can see the estate's outbuildings, an orangery, stables, greenhouses and a chapel, along with a park featuring trees, a grotto and a fountain.
