Le château de Cargouët (fief relevant de Lamballe) a été recensé en 1896 par Frotier de la Messelière. Cet ensemble se composait alors du logis, d'une chapelle, d'un colombier, de deux pavillons d'entrée, de communs et de douves. Le colombier, la chapelle et un pavillon d'entrée n'existent plus. Du logis, construit en deux campagnes au 17e siècle, subsiste la partie est avec sa tour carrée couverte d'un dôme. Le château a appartenu aux familles de Cargouët (13e siècle) , de Largentaye (14e siècle) , de la Motte (15e-16e siècles) , Bertho (16e-17e siècles) , Sauvaget des Clos (17e-18e siècles) , de Froulay (18e siècle).
