In Vézénobres, in the Gard department, the château de Calvières was raised in the third quarter of the 18th century for the marquis de Calvière, on the site of a former convent. The complex features a central main building flanked by two wings that curve into terraced galleries enclosing a courtyard. Visitors can also see an Italian-style gallery, outbuildings that once housed stables and coach houses, a small theatre altered in the early 19th century, and an ornamental pool reached by steps leading further up to a water tower decorated with niches.
