Ribaute Castle is a 13th-century fortress that was originally held by the Knights Templar and underwent major modifications during the 17th and 18th centuries. Its distinctive U-shaped plan comprises a central block flanked by two wings, with corner towers and three storeys of openings overlooking the courtyard. Inside, the castle retains evidence of its long history: wall paintings from the late 13th and early 14th centuries in the north-east wing, and an 18th-century grand staircase with curved double flights and painted decoration, attributed to architect Rollin.
