What the French Ministry of Culture records
Le château fut construit par les Albret dans la seconde moitié du 16e siècle. Henri de Navarre s'y arrêtait lors de ses chevauchées à travers la Gascogne. L'édifice primitif fut remanié au 17e siècle puis agrandi au 18e. Adjonction de plusieurs bâtiments aux 19e et 20e siècles. La partie 16e-17e siècle est constituée par un corps de logis rectangulaire, encadré à l'angle nord-ouest d'une tour ronde et, à l'angle sud-est, d'un pavillon rectangulaire muni d'une bretèche défendant la porte d'entrée. Des embrasures de tir renforcent également la tour et le pavillon. Ce dernier abrite l'escalier. Le corps de logis abrite, au rez-de-chaussée, une salle tapissée de papiers peints réalisés sous le Second Empire, consacrés à l'évocation des séjours de Henri IV au château. Les bâtiments du 18e siècle conservent un salon lambrissé. Décor intérieur du 19e siècle. Le parc conserve une fontaine ouvragée avec niches à voûtes décorées de coquilles, pilastres cannelés à chapiteaux corinthiens, fronton triangulaire. Diverses dépendances, dont un grand chai, s'étendent côté ouest.
