Château de Bonnétable stands in Briosne-lès-Sables (Sarthe), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. The château de Bonnétable stands at the edge of town, extending onto the neighbouring commune of Briosne-lès-Sables, and traces its origins to a medieval stronghold rebuilt in the late fifteenth century on the orders of Jean d'Harcourt. Its massive corner towers and vaulted gatehouse recall that late medieval building campaign, while the neo-gothic façades, turrets and bow windows reflect a renovation carried out under architect Henri Parent around 1880. The estate also retains a park laid out by the Bühler brothers, a kitchen garden and a Bollée wind pump, remnants of a seigneurial domain that stayed in the same family for centuries.
