Château de Berné stands in Saonnet (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

Ce colombier est situé à proximité du château de Berné à Saonnet, construit sous Louis XIII, mais modifié et agrandi au 19e siècle, et dans le parc naturel régional des marais de Cotentin et du Bessin. Il a conservé ses aménagements intérieurs. C'est un édifice cylindrique de 9 mètres de diamètre, qui offre la particularité d'être construit en terre (pisé) , badigeonnée intérieurement à la chaux. L'enduit qui couvre la construction est également remarquable par sa technique et son décor supérieur constitué d'une incrustation de morceaux de verre. Ce colombier comporte 1200 trous de boulins répartis sur deux niveaux, une échelle tournante et une charpente avec poteau central. Le colombier a souffert d'une longue période d'abandon. Sa couverture a disparu ; le clocheton qui le surmontait, ainsi que les quatre lucarnes, ont été déposés et remisés dans une grange. L'enduit est très endommagé. C'est le seul exemplaire en pisé de colombier subsistant en Basse-Normandie. Il est parfaitement daté par une plaque de fondation, portant l'inscription Claude Foellix Duffayel de Berne m'a fait bâtir l'an 1776 pour remplacer l'ancien colombier découvert.
