What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château édifié sur un éperon dominant la route de Bergerac, dont l'histoire est liée à la seigneurie de Montastruc et à son château. L'édifice présente un plan en U, fermé en partie sur le quatrième côté par une petite aile donnant sur la cour intérieure. Si quelques éléments anciens s'observent encore (fenêtres murées, tour d'escalier dans la cour intérieure, caves, baie géminée) , le plan et les décors intérieurs ont été complètement remaniés par les travaux de la fin du 19e siècle, et surtout par ceux entrepris de 1910 à 1914 par l'architecte Léon Drouyn. En 1892 puis en 1912, Gabriel Perdoux est chargé des projets pour la réalisation du parc paysager.
