Le château d'Orbigny du XIXe siècle domine la sortie est de Pontaubert. La carte de Cassini (XVIIIe) n'indique aucun château dans le hameau d'Orbigny. Le château et ses dépendances sont dessinés avec soin sur le cadastre de 1838. Du portail de l'entrée principale, on contemple un corps de logis avec une aile de style néo-classique sur deux étages percés régulièrement par de nombreuses fenêtres. La propriété enceinte de murs comporte de nombreuses dépendances, un pigeonnier, un parc ... Le château est à l'aplomb au sud de la vallée du Cousin et du moulin des Templiers. Une tour belvédère distante du château domine le Cousin. A noter une chapelle St jean, disparue qui se trouvait en contre bas de la propriété au bord du Cousin.
