What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château d'Auzon à Lucenay-lès-Aix, attesté dès le XVe siècle, est reconstruit dans les années 1830 par François Charrier, président du conseil général de l'Allier et maire de Moulins. Sa fille, Clémentine Chabot, commande en 1840 la création d'un parc au paysagiste Paul Lavenne de Choulot (1794-1864). Ce dernier propose un parc paysager composé de grandes prairies et traversé par la rivière Auzon qui ménage une pièce d'eau avec une île dans l'axe du château. Marie Chabot, fille de Clémentine Chabot, enrichit le parc d'essences exotiques et dans les années 1980 est créé un petit étang à l'est du parc.
