What the French Ministry of Culture records

Demeure du 18e siècle, caractéristique de l'architecture civile du Bourbonnais de l'époque. Une pierre encastrée dans la façade ouest du château commémore le début de la construction par Jean-Baptise Salle, écuyer, conseiller, secrétaire du Roi, exécuté à Paris pendant la Révolution. L'édifice se compose d'un corps de bâtiment en un étage, flanqué sur les côtés de deux ailes à un seul niveau auxquelles des constructions agricoles ont été adjointes sur les façades opposées à la cour d'honneur. Les communs ont été très remaniés, et l'élément le plus intéressant en est la bergerie en pan de bois. Un plan d'ensemble de 1770 y joint un parc à la française qui n'a sans doute jamais été réalisé.
