To make a day of it

Château des Crozes stands in Frontenaud (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 19th century). No visits are on record for this building.

In Frontenaud, in the Saône-et-Loire department, the Château des Crozes reflects the taste for richly ornamented residences at the end of the 19th century. Built between 1874 and 1884 for Jules Logerotte, its decorative abundance is the work of architect François Dulac, whose hundred or so surviving drawings trace the building's construction in detail. Inside, woodwork, fireplaces and floors were elaborately crafted, alongside murals depicting the Logerotte family and scenes drawn from history and mythology. The estate, which also includes a chapel and a traditional Bresse farmhouse, is a listed historic monument.
