The Château d'Étrembières stands on a rise at the northern tip of the Petit-Salève in Haute-Savoie, overlooking the Château des Terreaux from a height of 27 metres. This former fortified house, built around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries and later altered in the 15th and 16th centuries, retains a rectangular enclosure flanked by round towers, three of which still stand. Once tied to the lords of Étrembières and later to the counts of Geneva and the Compey family, the site still bears traces of its defensive past, including a fire in 1589.
