At Émalleville, in the Eure department, a château rebuilt around 1725 for François Duvert, treasurer of France at the Rouen finance office, stands on the site of an 11th and 12th century feudal mound whose remains can still be seen in the park. The main building, extended in the mid 19th century, is of interest for its brick and stone facades, its formal garden lined with lime trees and its sixteen hectare park, both listed as historic monuments along with the house itself. Restoration work carried out from 1991 preserved period fireplaces, woodwork and flooring.
