The château d'Ayron stands on a rise overlooking the Vendelogne valley, in the village of the same name in the Vienne department. Built at the end of the 15th century, its rectangular main building is flanked by two round towers on the south facade, and an entrance gate topped with an ogee arch can still be seen. A fire in 1951 destroyed the original roof structure, and the interiors have since been largely remodelled. Traces of the former fortified gateway and some outbuildings also remain on the site.
