Perched on a limestone cliff above the Nizonne valley, Aucors castle is a 15th-century Périgord manor house, rebuilt in the following century after the damage of the Wars of Religion. Two wings set at a right angle meet at a polygonal stair tower, and the main façade is marked by two turrets. The cliff itself is honeycombed with caves.
