Château d'Arcy stands in Vindecy (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
Standing on the banks of the Loire at Vindecy, Arcy castle retains features of a 12th century stronghold that was substantially rebuilt in the 15th century. The estate belonged to the Le Viste family, whose member Jean IV is said to have commissioned the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, before passing through marriage to the Robertet, Guillard, Valadoux and then Larcher families. Visitors today can see the entrance buildings with their tower, the gateway linking them, and the main residential wing with its adjoining section, reflecting both medieval and later building phases.
