Palais Rihour stands in Lille (Nord), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: Middle Ages). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

On place Rihour, in the centre of Lille, a few Gothic remnants recall the palace built in the 15th century for the Dukes of Burgundy. Repeated fires and demolitions, the last in 1916, left standing only the guards' hall, the chapel turned conclave room, and a grand staircase moved stone by stone. What remains today, ribbed vaults, mullioned windows, an octagonal stair tower, gives a sense of a vanished building rather than a full château to explore.

What to know

Only the guards' hall, the chapel known as the conclave room, and a Gothic staircase survive from the medieval palace.
The guards' hall now houses Lille's tourist office, so it can be entered freely during its opening hours.
The site sits in the city centre, directly accessible via the Rihour metro station.
Most of the current building dates from a 19th century reconstruction, with only a few elements genuinely from the 15th century.
The visit is limited to a few rooms, as the complex was greatly reduced by successive fires and demolitions.
