To make a day of it

Manoir du Réal stands in Boissy-l'Aillerie (Val-d'Oise), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In the hamlet of Réal, in Boissy-l'Aillerie, this 16th-century manor stands out for its rectangular plan flanked by four round corner towers, lower than the main building and topped with slate roofs. Built for Pierre de Guillon, steward to Henri I de Bourbon, it replaced an earlier 13th-century manor and remained in the Guillon family until the 18th century. Visitors come here for this softened defensive architecture, with its turrets and hipped roof, set beside the Viosne river.
