The manoir de Vaujour stands by the Pontillon stream, a few kilometres from the town of Rémalard in the Orne department. Built in the late 15th century and substantially reworked in the 16th, it retains an L-shaped main building flanked by a round tower and surrounded by a moat. The main facade carries decorative elements drawn from the French Renaissance, while a square enclosure cornered by round towers still closes off the courtyard. What stands out on site is this combination of defensive architecture and refined ornament.
