What the French Ministry of Culture records

Inscrit en partie depuis 1933, le manoir de Le May (Le Mée ou Lemais) s'en allait en ruine et servait de débarras à la ferme voisine. L'acquisition de cet édifice par le SIVOM du canton de Saint-Jean-Brévelay et son classement, ont permis de sauver ce manoir qui date de la seconde Renaissance, vers 1570. Il est constitué d'un pavillon de trois étages abritant l'escalier, d'un bâtiment en équerre et d'une aile faisant pendant à la tour d'escalier. Logis du seigneur de la paroisse, il relevait du fief de Porhoët.
