Originally built for a royal treasurer linked to the Crenan estate, the building seen today is the result of a 17th century reconstruction marked by the ionic order. Around the main house, traces remain of an old defensive enclosure with five square towers and a surrounding moat. The east wing, rebuilt in 1900 using older stones, reflects this blend of medieval origins and later alterations.
