The Wasserburg Netra stands at the western edge of the village of Netra, within the municipality of Ringgau, close to the road leading to Grandenborn. This substantial Renaissance building was erected between 1590 and 1600 by the lords of Boyneburg-Hohnstein, replacing an earlier stronghold thought to date back to the 13th century. Its near-square ground plan, with a diagonal corner tower at each edge, and the moat still filled with water on several sides give the complex its fortified character. As the building is privately owned, visits are limited to the exterior.
