To make a day of it
Schloss Wolfsbrunnen stands in Meinhard (Werra-Meißner-Kreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Wolfsbrunnen stands in the woods of Meinhard, at the foot of the Dachsberg, close to the hamlet of Schwebda. Built in the early twentieth century in a Neo-Renaissance style, the building combines a U-shaped wing around a courtyard of honour, a tall tower topped with a stepped Baroque dome, and an almost square main block under a pyramidal roof with scrolled gables. Its history runs from private residence to wartime field hospital, postwar children's home, and later an ashram, before becoming the hotel it houses today. The surrounding park, laid out from the late eighteenth century around a spring, gave the estate its name.
