To make a day of it

Schloss Wolfshagen (Uckermark) stands in Uckerland (Landkreis Uckermark), in Brandenburg, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Schloss Wolfshagen was for two centuries the seat of the Schwerin-Wolfshagen family, a noble lineage of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg. The baroque building raised by architect Jean de Bodt from 1727 onward replaced an earlier Renaissance castle on the site, and was later extended with two side wings during the 19th century. The house, together with its orangery and so-called Swiss cottage, was destroyed at the end of the Second World War and subsequently demolished entirely. Only a park now remains where the château once stood, in the village of Uckerland.

What to know

  • The château itself no longer exists: it was destroyed in 1945 and later fully demolished, so there is no building left to visit on site.
  • Only a park remains on the grounds of the former estate, in the village of Wolfshagen, part of the Uckerland municipality.
  • The site lies in Brandenburg, near the town of Woldegk, close to the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
  • No opening hours, fees or visitor facilities apply, as the location is an open-air park area.
